The UW-Stevens Point track and field team sent athletes to the Dr. Keeler Invitational in Naperville, Ill., and the UWL Eagle Open in La Crosse.

Alex Poncelet (Hastings, Minn./Hastings) won the hammer throw with a personal-best distance of 59.59 meters (195' 6").
 
Jared Schrang (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) took top billing in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.75.  Lee Jepsen (Auburndale, Wis./Auburndale) won the 100-meter dash in a time of 10.71.
 
Ashton Arnold (Kiel, Wis./Kiel) took first place in the 3000-meter steeplechase.  His time was 10:11.37.
 
On the women's side, Larkin Hoepner (Eau Claire, Wis./North) earned a trio of second-place finishes in the shot put, discus and hammer throw.  Her hammer throw distance of 52.74 meters (173' 0") was just 0.02 meters (1") shy of the event winner.
 
Sylviann Momont (Auburndale, Wis./Auburndale) took second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.60.  Catie Gage (Janesville, Wis./Parker) also notched a runner-up finish with a time of 19:30.26 in the 5000-meter run.
 
Paige Allemann (Waumandee, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain City) had UWSP's best finish in Illinois.  She placed second in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a PR time of 10:55.83.
 
The Pointers will return to La Crosse on Wednesday and Thursday (May 19-20) for the UWL Final Qualifier.  Events begin both days at 3:00 p.m.
