BROWN DEER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's swimming and diving team captured its 18th-consecutive title with a 251-point victory at the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's). The men racked up 971.50 points. The women finished in fourth with a total event score of 404 out of a five-team field. UWSP's

The Pointers continued to break WIAC records as
Jacob Aegerter (Cross Plains, Wis./) won the 200-yard butterfly in a meet record time of 1:49.90. Aegerter also teamed up with
Jack Englehardt (Madison, Wis./West),
Grant Moser (St. Michael, Minn./), and
Sam Jekel (Fitchburg, Wis./Madison West) to win the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:01.74.
Nate Somers (Oshkosh, Wis./West) won the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 15:55.85. Teammates
Michael Mills (Fox Point, Wis./Nicolet),
Justin Fernandez (Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech) and
Austin Teunissen (Bismarck, N.D./Bismarck) finished in the second through fourth with times under 16:50.
Ethan Bott (Whitefish Bay, Wis./) added another first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:50.86, nearly three seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
Gluck completed a sweep of the diving events with a win in the three-meter diving event on Saturday. Gluck finished with a score of 479.90. During the second day of competition, Gluck won the one-meter diving event.
Jack Englehardt (Madison, Wis./West) picked up a runner up spot in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 45.38.
Joel Harris (Stevens Point, Wis./) and
Justin Fernandez (Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech) finished four and five in the 200-yard breaststroke. The pair finished with times of 2:10.94 and 2:11.41.
On the women's side,
Jackie Braun (Sauk Rapids, Minn./) took the runner up spot in the one-meter diving event. Braun finished with a score of 418.65.
Bree Parent (Mt. Horeb, Wis./) finished the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:25.72, a time good for third-place. Parent's night was not over as she teamed up with
Bridget Flesher (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East),
Erica Perkins (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century High School) and
Kassie Yeazel (Whitewater, Wis./) to pick up a fifth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The group finished with a time 3:43.39.
The Pointers head to Shenandoah, Texas on March 15-18 for the NCAA Championships.
