STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams competed at the Pointer Alumni Open with the men taking first and women finishing second on Saturday. The men scored 234.50 points and the women tallied 208.50.
Results
For the UWSP men,
Mason Mead (Wausau, Wis./West) took first in the 300-meter dash with a time of 35.72.
Braedon Gilles (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) added another first-place finish for the Pointers in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:23.71.
Logan Lutz (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) took the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.81.
Sophomore
Ryan Rininger (Wauconda, Ill/Wauconda) added a first-place finish in the 3000-meter run with a time of 8:49.41.
Rounding out the first-place finishes for the UWSP men was
Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus), who won the shot put with a throw of 15.69 meters (51' 5.75").
Thomas Cole (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) added a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.06 and a third-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 6.36 meters (21' 3.50").
Jason Yager (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) tacked on a second-place finish in the mile run with a time of 5:02.56.
In the jump events,
Cade Ravenscroft (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells) and
Ian Lillquist (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) each contributed second-place finishes. Ravenscroft took second in the high jump with a height of 1.90 meters (6' 2.75"). Lillquist earned a second-place finish in the triple jump with a jump of 13.50 meters (44' 3.50").
Dilan Schneider (Rib Lake, Wis./Rib Lake) took second in the weight throw with a throw of 16.03 meters (52' 7.25").
For the UWSP women,
Anetha Vogele (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) tacked on a first-place finish in the 300-meter dash with a time of 42.90.
Ashley Spatz (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) registered a first-place finish in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:43.87.
Paige Allemann (Waumandee, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain City) took first in the 800-meter run, clocking a time of 2:28.83.
In the distance events,
Kassia Marquardt (Sauk Prairie, Wis./Sauk Prairie) and
Natalie Johnson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) each added first-place finishes. Marquardt took first in the mile run with a time of 5:53.06. Johnson took first in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:30.87.
Rachel Perry (Mantorville, Minn./RAACHE) took first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.90.
Freshman
KD Knipp (Mercer, Wis./Mercer) earned a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.27.
In the jump events,
Madeline Zirbel (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) and
Adyn Theriault (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) each added second-place finishes. Zirbel took second in the high jump with a height of 1.51 meters (4' 11.50"). Theriault took second in the long jump with a distance of 5.04 meters (16' 6.50").
In the throw events,
Guadalupe Corn (Keshena, Wis./Menominee Indian) added a second-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 11.95 meters (39' 2.50").
Amelia Retzlaff (New Lisbon, Wis./New Lisbon) tacked on a second-place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 14.41 meters (47' 3.50").
The Pointers travel to Eau Claire for the annual WIAC Tri meet on Saturday (Jan. 20) at 12:00 p.m.
