PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams picked up three event wins at Friday's Platteville Invitational. The UWSP women placed third and the men sixth out 10 teams at the event.
 
Results
 
Chrissy Hughes (Milton, Wis./Milton) won the 100-meter hurdles for the women. Her time of 15.20 was a mere 0.04 seconds ahead of the runner-up.
 
Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay, Wis./Big Foot) took first in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a PR time of 11:35.88.
 
The team of Wellhausen, Savana Burg (Cedar Grove, Wis./Sheboygan Falls), Anetha Vogele (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) and Esme Reinders (Eau Claire, Wis./Regis) placed second in the 4x400-meter relay. Their time of 4:07.28 was just over a second over the event winners.
 
Leyna Herzog (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) finished third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.32. Paige Allemann (Waumandee, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain City) also took third in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:54.40. In the pole vault, Abby Nelson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) cleared 3.31 meters for a third-place finish.
 
For the men, Jared Schrang (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) earned the win in the 110-meter hurdles. His time of 14.91 was 0.02 seconds under the second-place finisher.
 
Derek Penzkover (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) placed third in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:04.87. Zach Ostrowski (Ringle, Wis./D.C. Everest) in the 3000-meter steeplechase and the 4x100-meter relay team of Jamari Sloans (), Tyler Santi (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper), Nik Zastrow (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) and Lucas Hart (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) also took third place.
 
The Pointers travel to La Crosse on Friday (April 22) for the Esten Challenge.
