WINNECONNE, Wis. – Senior Neil Pedersen (Clarendon Hills, IL/Hinsdale Central) paced the UW-Stevens Point men's cross country team to a fifth-place in the 33 team NCAA Division III Midwest Regional on Saturday.  Freshman Bailey Wolf (Oconto Falls, WI/Oconto Falls) was the fastest finisher for the women's team that placed 13th out of 38 squads.

Pedersen and teammate Dane Tyler (Janesville, WI/Parker) crossed the finish line a second apart at 25:31 and 25:32, respectively, to finish 30th and 31st.  Junior Alex Richardson (Hales Corners, WI/Whitnall), senior Luke Johnston (Mokena, IL/Lincoln-Way East) and sophomore Alex Egbert (Sparta, WI/Aquinas) rounded out the scoring for UWSP, all crossing in 26 minutes or less.

Wolf ran a sub-23-minute 6K for the Pointers for an individual finish at 39th.  Juniors Kathy Derks (Greenville, WI/Hortonville) and Emily Schlebecker (Mundelein, IL/Mundelein) ran times of 23:11 and 23:26 to place in the top-100 out of 244 individual finishers.
