NEW ORLEANS, La.—The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's cross country teams both received All-Academic honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced on Thursday (Jan. 29).

UWSP's women's team recorded a 3.55 grade point average. The men's team had a 3.52 grade point average.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.
Meg McAfee (Shawnee, Kan./Mill Valley) was the lone women's team member to earn individual All-Academic honors.
Five members of the men's team,
Mateo Alvarado Venegas (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie),
Mike Brown (Butternut, Wis./Butternut),
Sean Heetland (North Aurora, Ill./West Aurora),
Martin Kimmel (Deerfield, Wis./Deerfield) and
Logan Murphy (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) earned individual All-Academic honors.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
