SPARTANBURG, S.C.—The UW-Stevens Point men's cross country team competed in the NCAA Division III Championships at Milliken Research Park in Spartanburg, S.C, where they finished 18
th out of a 32-team field.
Results
Mateo Alvarado Venegas (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) crossed the line first for the Pointers at 24:56.5 to take 60
th place.
Logan Murphy (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) followed four places behind with a time of 24:58.0.
Sean Heetland (North Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) took 153
rd place with a time of 25:40.6.
Mike Brown (Butternut, Wis./Butternut) and
Martin Kimmel (Deerfield, Wis./Deerfield) rounded out the Pointers' team scoring, finishing 162
nd and 185
th, respectively.
Malachi Kurth (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) and
Ryan Rininger (Wauconda, Ill/Wauconda) both finished in the top-200, placing 188
th and 191
st, respectively.
The Pointers made their second-straight NCAA appearance.
