Kathy Derks (Greenville, WI/Hortonville) finished 38th, the lowest placing among individuals for the UW-Stevens Point cross country teams, at Saturday's UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis. Senior
Neil Pedersen (Clarndon Hills, IL/Hinsdale Central) was the top finisher for the men, placing 48th.

Derks clocked in at 22:59 in the 6K race for the Pointers, who finished 17th in the 36 team field. Freshman
Bailey Wolf (Oconto Falls, WI/Oconto Falls) crossed at the 23:26 mark for a 78th-place finish in the 528 runner field.
Pedersen led the men's team to a 13th-place finish in the 8K with a time of 26:07. Freshman
Matt Stelmasek (Johnsburg, IL/Johnsburg), junior
Alex Richardson (Hales Corners, WI/Whitnall) and senior
Luke Johnston (Mokena, IL/Lincoln-Way East) also placed in the top-100 among the 551 finishers. Stelmasek ran a 26:15 for 59th place, Richardson crossed at 26:21 for 64th and Johnston placed 98th with a time of 26:46.
The Pointers head to Oshkosh next Friday for the Oshkosh Open, the final tune up before the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's).
