DELAWARE, Ohio –
Jerry Williams (Watertown, WI/Watertown) earned All-American honors in the triple jump at the 2014 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan, on Saturday.
Results Williams placed sixth in the triple jump to earn All-American honors as a freshman with a jump of 14.56 meters (47' 9.25"). The sixth-place finish was the best among all freshmen at the national championships.
Williams' All-American performance means that UW-Stevens Point has had at least one outdoor All-American in each of the last seven years and 16 of the last 17.
In the 800 meter run,
Michael Evans (Reedsville, WI/Valders) finished fifth in his heat with a time of 1:52.11 in his freshman season but did not advance to the finals.
