STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The 12th-ranked UW-Stevens Point men's indoor track and field team finished as the runner-up for the second straight weekend by picking up six event titles at the Pointer Multi Invite.
Results
UW-Stevens Point finished with 167 points, 10 points behind UW-Eau Claire.
Matt Gerber (Tomahawk, WI/Tomahawk) earned the win in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 22.65 seconds.
Alec Dix (WIld Rose, WI/Wild Rose) won the triple jump (13.27 m) and was second in the long jump (6.55 m).
In the high jump,
Tanner Russell (Farmer City, IL/Farmer City) took home the individual title with a jump of 1.93 m, while Brain Andrews was second.
Nick Michalske (Wausau, WI/Newman Catholic) won the pole vault by clearing 4.36 m.
Nicholas Geiger (Mayville, WI/Mayville) (4.35 m) won the pole vault part of the heptathlon and finished fourth in the event.
In the 3,000-meter run,
Justin Kreuser (Kenosha, WI/Bradford) (8:56.25), Lukas Johnston (8:59.35) and
Cody Riesterer (LaGrange Park, IL/Lyons Township) (9:02.78) finished second, third and fourth, respectively.
In the one mile run,
Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) (4:17.10) and
Michael Evans (Reedsville, WI/Valders) (4:17.86) finished second and third, respectively.
The UWSP 4x200-meter 'A' relay was victorious with a time of 1:31.51.
The Pointers compete at the WIAC Quad at UW-Oshkosh next weekend.
