WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's track and field team claimed second place with 159 points in the Rex Foster Invitational at UW-Whitewater while the men's team finished third with 99 points Friday.
Results
Jasmine Haines (East Troy, WI/East Troy) won the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.98, over one full second ahead of the runner up.
Ana Breit (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Pacelli) took second place in the 800-meter run by finishing in 2:21.43.
Alexa Lewin (Appleton, WI/Freedom) won the 100-meter hurdles at 16.11.
Samantha Haas (Waupun, WI/Waupun) and
Shannon Burke (Sussex, WI/Hamilton) tied for second place in the pole vault when they both cleared 3.15 meters.
The Pointer women took each of the top six spots in the 10,000-meter run with
Lauren Dilley (Middleton, WI/Middleton) placing first at 39.10:17, followed by
Katherine Larson (Milwaukee, WI/West Allis Central),
Nicole Hillman (Marshall, WI/Marshall),
Brittany Richard (Garden, MI/Big Bay De Noc),
Ashley Clark (Shoreview, MN/Mount View) and
Melissa Kohlhagen (Lodi, WI/Lodi), respectively.
On the men's side
Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) won the 800-meter with a time of 1:55.73, and
Scott Berry (Rudolph, WI/Lincoln) placed second in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:04.86.
Justin Hemshrot (Shell Lake, WI/Shell Lake) won the men's pole vault by clearing 4.77 meters.
Both the men's and women's teams compete at UW-Platteville on Saturday, April 13.
