STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The UW-Stevens Point women's track and field team closed out the regular season with a second place finish while the men's team was third at the 2013 Eastbay/Pointer Invitational Saturday.
Results
Highlights from the day included:
Jasmine Haines (East Troy, WI/East Troy) won the 400-meter dash, posting a time of 58.86. She also placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.29.
Lauren Dilley (Middleton, WI/Middleton) and
Kelsey Laska (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah Community) took second and third in the women's 3000-meter run with times of 10:47.01 and 10:49.19, respectively.
Melissa Kohlgagen finished third in the women's 5000-meter run with a time of 19:26.65.
Erin Kline (Casco, WI/Luxemburg-Casco) took second in the women's 60-meter hurdles, posting a time of 9.13.
The men's and women's 4x200-meter relay teams took second with times of 1:34.20 and 1:49.35, respectively.
Women's 4x400 meter relay of
Nicole Hillman (Marshall, WI/Marshall),
Kristin Mathes (Kiel, WI/Kiel),
Ana Breit (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Pacelli) and
Jasmine Haines (East Troy, WI/East Troy) finished first, posting a time of 4:01.71.
Samantha Haas (Waupun, WI/Waupun) placed second in the women's pole vault with a vault of 3.26 meters.
Justin Kreuser (Kenosha, WI/Bradford) finished second in the men's one mile run with a time of 4:21.14.
In the men's 3000-meter run
Reuben Frey (Palatine, IL/Palatine) and
Spencer Houk (Sun Prairie, WI/Sun Prairie) finished first and third, posting times of 8:50.08 and 8:54.05, respectively.
The men's 4x400-meter relay of
Daniel Ostrowski (Wautoma, WI/Wautoma), Nick Melotte,
Alec Oestreich (Merrill, WI/Merrill) and Tim Warren placed second with a time of 3:23.57.
The men's distance medley consisting of
Dennis Haak (Belleville, WI/Belleville),
Daniel Ostrowski (Wautoma, WI/Wautoma),
Scott Berry (Rudolph, WI/Lincoln) and
Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) placed second with a time of 10:00.38.
Justin Hermshort finished third in the pole vault with a vault of 4.51 meters.
Brian Thill (Webster, WI/Webster) and
Jordan Richards (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) finished second and third in the men's long jump with jumps of 6.56 and 6.43 meters, respectively.
The Pointers return to action Feb. 22-23 at the WIAC Indoor Championships in Stevens Point.
