DES MOINES, Iowa – The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's track & field teams competed at the legendary Drake Relays April 25-28 in De Moines, Iowa.

The Pointers took home the championship in the men's 4x800-meter relay, as the quartet of
Scott Berry (Rudolph, WI/Lincoln),
Alex Steiner (Chilton, WI/Chilton),
Ryan Wierzba (Rosholt, WI/Rosholt) and
Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) posted a time of 7:33.51.
Other highlights on the men's side included:
Sean Hasenstein (Sheboygan, WI/Sheboygan Lutheran) finished 11th in the 10,000-meter run, posting a time of 30:19.49, posting one of the fastest times by any Division III runners.
Zach Scott-Keyers, Andrew Jacobs,
Daniel Ostrowski (Wautoma, WI/Wautoma) and Nick Duckow finished 13th in the 1600 sprint medley relay with a time of 3:32.87.
The distance medley relay team of Berry,
Babatunde Awosika (Milwaukee, WI/Milwaukee School of Arts), Steiner and Sullivan finished third with a time of 9:58.80.
Jim Watry finished 11th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.09.
On the women's side,
Kelly Haen (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) posted a career PR in the 10k run, finishing seventh with a time of 35:45, the second-best finish by a Division III competitor in the event.
The 1600 sprint medley relay team of
Hannah School (Wittenburg, WI/Wittenburg-Birnamwood),
Chelsea Czarnecki (Ashland, WI/Ashland),
Alesha Malueg (Appleton, WI/Kimberly) and
Kristin Mathes (Kiel, WI/Kiel) finished 14th with a time of 4:11.37.
The distance medley relay team of
Kelsey Laska (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah Community), Czarnecki, Mathes and
Julia Colling (Maplewood, MN/North) finished 15th with a time of 12:42.98.
