MENOMONIE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's indoor track & field team finished seventh of nine teams at the 2012 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships on Saturday afternoon.
The UW-La Crosse secured its 11th consecutive championship at the two-day event. The Eagles earned their league-best 37th title in program history after compiling 140 points during the two-day championship.
The Pointers claimed two conference titles at the meet.
Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) set a new conference record en route to a title in the one-mile run. He posted a time of 4:08.44.
High jumper Zach Mixdorf also took home a conference title, clearing 6 feet 10 ¾ inches.
Nicholas Dax (Green Bay, WI/Ashwaubenon) was also honored by being named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
UW-Stevens Point returns to action at the Pointer Qualifier on March 3 in the team's final tune-up before the 2012 NCAA Division III Indoor Championship held in Grinnel, Iowa.
