WHITEWATER – The UW-Stevens Point men's track & field team had its final tune-up before the conference championships, competing at the 2011 Whitewater Invitational. No team scores were kept at the meet.
Highlights from the meet included:
Kristopher Riggs posted a provisional qualifying time in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.83 in the finals. He finished third overall.
Logan Seipel (Colfax, WI/Colfax) and James Heroux (Sturgeon Bay, WI/Sevastopol) finished 1-2 in the 3000 meter steeplechase with times of 10:00.90 and 10:05.53, respectively.
Jesse Klotts finished third in the shot put with a throw of 15.01 meters (49 feet, 3.0 inches)
Zach Mixdorf finished third in the high jump, clearing 2.01 meters (6 feet, 7.0 inches).
Scott Berry (Rudolph, WI/Lincoln) finished second in the 800 meter run, posting a time of 1:58.40.
The Pointers return to the track May 6-7 at the 2011 WIAC Outdoor Championships hosted by UW-Platteville.
