OSHKOSH – Six Pointers finished in first place as the UW-Stevens Point men's track & field team collected 78.6 teams points on their way to a third place finish in the eight team field at the 2011 UW-Oshkosh Invitational at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Weather again dominated the event, with rain forcing many participants to withdraw from their respective events.
Highlights from the day included:
Kris Riggs (Stevens Point/SPASH) posted the top time in the prelims of the 110 meter hurdles (15.23).
Babatunde Awoski finished with the top time in the prelims of the 100 meter dash, posting a 11.32 time in the event. The finals were not run.
Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) posted the top time in the finals of the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:00.24. Alex Steiner (Chilton/Chilton) finished third with a time of 4:07.12.
Josh Schwinn (Howards Grove/Howards Grove) posted the top time of the day in the 400 meter dash finals, 50.64.
Zach Scott-Keyser (Rockford, IL/Rockford Jefferson) and Adam Nooker (Green Bay/Preble) finished 1-2 in the finals of the 200 meter dash, posting times of 23.51 and 24.56, respectively.
Zach Mixdorf (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) cleared 2.0 meters (6 feet, 6.75 inches) for the day's top height in the high jump.
UW-Stevens Point returns to the tack on April 28-30 at the Drake Relays.
