PLATTEVILLE – The UW-Stevens Point men's outdoor track & field team took to the track for their second meet of the 2011 season, competing at the UW-Platteville Outdoor Invitational. No team scores were kept at the event.  

Highlights from the day included:
Kristopher Riggs finished third in the 110 meter hurdles, posting a time of 15.24 in the event finals.  

Tim Thornburg (Delafield/Kettle Moraine) finished fourth in the 1500 meter run with his time of 4:00.48 

Josh Schwinn (Howards Grove/Howards Grove) posted a third place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.19 in the event finals. 

Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) finished second in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:54.26. 

The men's 4x400 meter relay team finished in second place, posting a time of 3:16.97, just .68 seconds off the top time. 

Evan Hutichson posted the top distance in the triple jump at 43 feet 8 inches. He also had the day's second-best throw in the javelin with a toss of 159 feet, 1 inch.  

Zach Mixdorf (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) had the best high jump of the day clearing 6 feet, 6.75 inches. 

The Pointers continue their spring season when the take to the track at the Augustana Invitational in Rock Island, Ill. April 15-16.
