Pointer men have final meet before Indoor Conference Championships

STEVENS POINT – The UW-Stevens Point men's indoor track & field team hosted its final action before conference championships on Saturday, participating in the 2011 Pointer/Eastbay Invitational. No team scores were kept at the event. 

Highlights from the day included:

Zach Mixdorf (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) posted the top height in the high jump, clearing 2.05 meters (6' 8.75”).

Sean Hasenstein (Sheboygan, WI/Lutheran) and Evan Cooper (Delafield, WI/Kettle Moraine) finished 1-2 in the 3,000 meter run with times of 8:47.62 and 8:48.84, respectively. 

Kristopher Riggs finished second in the finals of the 55 hurdles with a time of 7.97

The 4x400 relay team finished second on the afternoon, posting a time of 3:19.40.

Tom Wenzler (Delafield/Kettle Moraine) finished third in the 400 meter dash, posting a time of 50.50.

Scott Berry (Rudolph, WI/Lincoln) finished third in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.06.

Robert Hendricks (Suamico, WI/Bay Port) finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 12.75m (41' 10”)

The Pointers will head to Menomonie Feb. 26-26 for the 2011 conference championships, hosted by UW-Stout. Action Friday begins at 1 p.m.
