Pointers Run to First at Tadd Metzger Invite

KENOSHA - The UW-Stevens Point men's indoor track & field team collected 145.5 team points on Friday afternoon en route to a first place finish at the 2011 Tadd Metzger Invite hosted by Carthage College. 

Highlights from the first place finish included Keith Ingram (Milwaukee, WI/Riverside) and Babatunde Awosika (Milwaukee, WI /Mil. School of Arts) finishing second and third in the 55 meter dash finals, posting identical times of 6.57. 

Tom Wenzler (Delafield/Kettle Moraine) and Zach Scott-Keyser (Rockford, IL/Rockford Jefferson) finished 2-3 in the 400 meter dash, posting times of 51.17 and 51.23, respectively.

David Litsheim (Appleton/East) and Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) finished 1-2 in the one mile run, as Litsheim posted the events top time of 4:19.40. Sullivan posted a time of 4:22.53.

The men's 4x400 meter relay team posted a top time in the event, running a time of 3:23.88, earning 10 team points.

Daniel Diebitz (West Allis, WI /Central) cleared 4.41 meters (14'4.65”) in the pole vault, the event's top height. 

The Pointers return to action when they host the Pointer Invitational Feb. 4-5 at the Multi-Activity Center on UW-Stevens Point campus.
