Petrie, 4x400 Relay Team Finish First at Platteville

PLATTEVILLE – The Pointers 4x400 meter relay team captured the event championship and Chris Petrie (Glenbeulah/Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah) secured the men's triple jump title at the 2010 Platteville Open on Saturday afternoon. No team scores were kept at the event.

The 4x400 meter relay team captured the event championship, as they finished ahead of the field with a time of 3:20.34.

Petrie took home the men's triple jump title with a distance of 13.82 meters (45'4.25”).

Elsewhere, Jerry Prusinski (Rib Lake/Rib Lake) finished second in the hammer throw with a toss of 55.04 meters (180'7”).

Kris Riggs also finished second in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.33, after posting a 15.53 in the prelims.

Derek Nechuta rounded out the top-five finishers, posting a fourth place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:02.02.

The Pointers return to action next weekend at the Augustana Invitational in Rock Island, Ill.
