PLATTEVILLE - The Pointers brought home four first place finishes as the UW-Stevens Point men's track and field team traveled to Platteville for the Platteville Invitational on Saturday.
Junior
Keith Ingram (Milwaukee) held off a charge by University of Dubuque's Davivorn Dowe for a first place finish in the 55 meter dash. Keith posted a time of 6.41 seconds compared to Dowe's time of 6.42 seconds.
The men's 4x400 team also took home a first place with a time of 3:20.66.
Teammates
Nick Dax (Green Bay) and
Ernest Edmond (Southfield, MI) ran to second and fourth place finishes in the 200 meter dash. Their times were 22.78 and 22.81 seconds respectfully.
Adam Lang (Sheboygan) and
Joshua Schwinn (Howards Grove) also finished in second and fourth in the 400 meter dash. They posted times of 50.39 and 50.64 seconds respectfully.
David Litsheim (Appleton) also brought home a second place finish posting a time of 4:11.03 in the one mile run.
In the field events
Christopher Petrie (Glenbeulah) and
Kyle Scofield (Green Bay) both placed first in their events. Petrie set a mark of 13.91 meters in the triple jump and Schofield won with a 15.77 meter throw in the shot put.
Other notable finishes in the field events came from
Noah Steffel (Luxemburg) who placed third in the long jump with a 6.42 meter jump.
The Pointers will return to action Saturday, February 20th when they will host the Pointer Eastbay Invitational. The start time is to be announced.
