STEVENS POINT – The UW-Stevens Point men's track and field team tallied seven first-place finishes and tallied 205 team points en route to their fourth top finish of the season at the Eastbay/Stevens Point Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Top finishers on the day included
Keith Ingram (Milwaukee, Riverside) with a win in the 55-meter dash in a time of 6.33.
Travis Nechuta (Mosinee) and
Kyle Johnson (Beloit, Memorial) finished 1-2 in the one mile run while
Adam Lang (Sheboygan, Lutheran),
Greg Haak (Belleville, Belleville) and
David Litsheim (Appleton, East) finished 1-3 in the 800-meter run. In the men's 3000-meter run
Corey Towle (Waukesha, South),
Phil Richert (Andover, MN, Andover),
Jason Lisowe (Chilton, Chilton) and
Timothy Thornburg (Delafield, Kettle Moraine) finish 1-4 for the Pointers, collecting 29 points.
Elsewhere
Brian Finnel (Forestville, Southern Door) finished first in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:24.18,
Mike Dellemann (Oregon) finished with the best time in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.82 and
Kyle Scofield (Green Bay, Preble) finished first in the shot put with a throw of 15.87m.
The Pointers will next be in action at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Indoor Championships at the UW-Stout Sport & Fitness Center in Menomonie. Racing will take place on Feb. 28 and March 1.
