MADISON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team landed five players on the All-WIAC team announced on Wednesday (March 12). Senior
Soile Doyle (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) and
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) along with sophomore
Emily Griege (Chesterfield, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) earned first-team honors.
Maddie Andrle (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) and
Molly Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd) picked up All-WIAC honorable mention accolades. Leising was also named the WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete award for women's hockey. Doyle also earned WIAC All-Sportsmanship team honors.
WIAC Release
Leising picks up her third-consecutive all-conference first team accolade. She becomes the fourth Pointer in women's hockey to earn the league's scholar-athlete and first since the 2020-21 season. She led the Pointers in scoring with 31 points, fourth-most in the WIAC, with team-highs of 14 goals and 17 assists. She had 10 multi-point nights with a season-best five points at Northland on Jan. 31. Leising scored three game-winning goals, all versus conference opponents.
Doyle earns her first career honor from the league after a breakout senior year. She scored seven goals and nine assists, far and away career highs. She recorded three multi-point games and scored two game-winning goals.
Griege lands her first career conference award. She played in 15 games with an 8-5-0 record with two shutouts, both on the road. She posted a .928 saves percentage. Four of her eight wins came versus conference foes this season.
Andrle grabs her first career league honor. She was second on the team with 26 points. Her 12 goals were third on the team and her 14 assists were the second-most. She had six multi-point games, including a program-record six-point night in the series opener at Northland on Jan. 31.
Pohlkamp garners a league award in her first season at UWSP. She was third on the team in points with 23. Her 13 goals were second on the team and her 10 assists were third-most. She posted five multi-point games, including a season-high five points at Northland on Jan. 31 where she scored her first career hat trick.
UWSP finished with a 12-14-1 record and was third in the WIAC standings this season.
