EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (11-16-0) saw its season conclude with a 5-0 loss at No. 11 UW-Eau Claire (20-7-0) in the WIAC Tournament (presented by Culver's) semifinal round.
UWEC got on the board at the 7:35 mark of the first period. UWSP goaltender
Anne Beck (Grandville, Mich./Grandville) made 19 saves in the first period to keep the Pointers at just a 1-0 deficit.
The Blugolds scored three times in the second period with goals at 2:26, 11:38 and 14:15 to push the scoreline to 4-0.
Freshman goaltender
Claire Swanson (Buffalo, Minn./Rogers) played the final 25:28 of the game. She had 17 saves and allowed a single goal in the third period.
Senior
Maddie Andrle (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) played in her 100th career game and recorded two of UWSP's 21 shots on goal.
The UWSP women's hockey team has reached the semifinals in all 13 season of the WIAC Women's Hockey Tournament.
