RIPON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (7-4-8) closed out non-conference play with a convincing 4-0 win at Ripon (4-8-5) on Tuesday.
 
Sofia Jimenez (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy) put the Pointers ahead in the third minute of play, the eventual game-winner. It was her second goal in as many matches.
 
Christa Borchardt (New Berlin, Wis./West) doubled the UWSP lead in the 24th minute with Kayce Wadas (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) picking up an assist on the play.
 
In the 62nd minute Cass Klitzke (Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area) extended the UWSP lead to 3-0 with her team-best ninth tally of the season. Nora Lee (Holmen, Wis./Holmen) notched her second assist of the season on the play.
 
Emma Schmidt (Oshkosh, Wis./West) scored her first career goal in the 70th minute to push the advantage to 4-0. Borchardt posted her second point of the night with an assist.
 
Ainsley Katte (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) played the opening 45 in net and made one save. Erika Panella (Waukesha, Wis./Kettle Moraine) was in net for the second half and also made one save in the combined shutout.
 
The Pointers are home on Saturday (Nov. 1) for the regular season finale against UW-Stout. Kick off at the UWSP Turf Facility is slated for 6:00 p.m.
