STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (6-4-8, 1-1-4) secured another league point with a 1-1 tie with visiting UW-Platteville (8-4-4, 2-1-3) on Saturday.
The Pioneers got on the board first with a goal in the 15th minute of play.
The Pointers pressed earning four first-half corner kicks, but trailed at the half, 1-0.
In the 63rd minute,
Christa Borchardt (New Berlin, Wis./West) was taken down in the box and UWSP was awarded a penalty kick.
Sofia Jimenez (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy) stepped to the spot and drilled home the match equalizer, her first career goal.
The Pointers earned four more corner kicks in the second half, but neither team was able to break the tie.

Ainsley Katte (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) made three saves. UWP goalkeeper Margurite Mueller had four saves.
The Pointers travel to Ripon on Wednesday (Oct. 29) for the non-conference finale. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
