Johnson, Rennhack Highlight UWSP Track & Field at Augustana Midwest Twilight

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams traveled to Augustana College (Ill.) to compete in the Augustana Midwest Twilight in the team's final attempt to punch their tickets to the NCAA National Championships.
 
Results
 
For the women, Natalie Johnson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) finished with a time of 5:05.83 to win the 1500-meter run and took 18th in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:31.84.
 
Madi Juenger (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) placed right behind Johnson with a second-place mark in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:10.36.
 
For the men, Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus) logged a first-place finish in the shot put with a heave of 16.41 meters (53' 10.25").
 
Braedon Gilles (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) made a strong final push to secure a spot a NCAA Nationals with a speedy time of 1:49.37 in the 800-meter run to finish second.
 
Zach Brandenburg (Kronenwetter, Wis./D.C. Everest) logged a fifth-place finish in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:51.68.
 
Derek Penzkover (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) ran the 1500-meter run invite during Wednesday's action, finishing sixth with a time of 3:49.42.
