Football Lands Six on CSC Academic All-District Honors List

Six members of the UW-Stevens Point football team were awarded academic All-district honors by the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced on Tuesday (Dec. 19). Marshal Bukowski (Green Bay, Wis./North East Lutheran), Dakota Carriveau (Oconto Falls, Wis./Oconto Falls), Brycen Cashin (Plover, Wis./Pacelli), Caleb DeJong (Merrill, Wis./Merrill), Zach Kriegel and Tysen White (McFarland, Wis./McFarland) received accolades.

Bukowski notches his first academic all-district award. The senior linebacker started all 10 games and was second on the team in tackles with 55. He recorded a sack, had two pass break ups and recovered a fumble. Bukowski has been a WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll recipient twice.
 
Carriveau also garners his first career academic all-district laurel. He was an All-WIAC honorable mention selection this season. He started all 10 games and was seventh on the team with 30 tackles. He blocked a league-high three kicks, forced a fumble, Had four quarterback hurries and two sacks. His 5.5 tackles for loss were second in the team. Carriveau has earned WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll accolades four times.
 
Cashin grabs his first academic all-district honor as well. He started and played in nine on the year. He led the team in rushing with 360 net yards. He had two rushing and two receiving touchdowns on the season. Cashin was second in the WIAC in kickoff return yards at 455. He was a WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll recipient last season.
 
DeJong nabs his first academic all-district accolade also. He played in all 10 games and was third on the team in tackles with 54. He added one sack, two pass break ups and a quarterback hurry. He was a WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll recipient last season.
 
Kriegel picks up his academic all-district award. He started and played in nine games. He has earned WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll laurels twice in his career.
 
White receives his first academic all-district nod.  He started all 10 games and led the team in tackles with 76, good for sixth in the conference. Led the team and the league in fumble recoveries with two this season. He added 1.5 tackles for loss and had one quarterback hurry. White was a WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll selection last year.
