Six Pointers Receive Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind.-- Six members of the UW-Stevens Point football team, Gavin Adams (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago), Joe Berens (Wausau, Wis./West), Brycen Cashin (Plover, Wis./Pacelli), Carter Dahlke (Green Bay, Wis./Notre Dame Academy), Andru Miller (Plymouth, Wis./Plumouth) and Tanner Mrotek (Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln) were recognized as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees, the organization announced Tuesday (Jan. 6).

Adams earned his second-straight academic all-district accolade. He played in nine games this season, had 12 total tackles with two solo including one pass break up. Adams has been named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
 
Berens received his second-straight academic all-district honor. He started and played in all 10 games this season, made 43 solo tackles, 53 assisted tackles, four sacks for a loss of 31 yards and forced one fumble. Berens was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll in 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024, 25. This season was named to the All-WIAC Second-Team Defense.
 
Cashin earned his second academic all-district accolade. He started and played in all 10 games this season, had 756 rush yards, eight rushing touchdowns, one pass attempt for seven yards, 727 kickoff return yards and one kickoff return touchdown. Cashin was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll in 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25. This season, he was awarded the WIAC Kwik Trip Special Teams Athlete of the Week for the week of September 9-14 and was named to the All-WIAC First-Team Offense- All Purpose Back, All-WIAC Second-Team Offense- Running Back and All-WIAC Honorable Mention Special Teams- Return Specialist.
 
Dahlke received his first academic all-district honor. He started and played in all 10 games this season, making 51 total tackles with 15 solo tackles including one interception and one forced fumble. Dahlke was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll in 2024-25.
 
Miller earned his first academic all-district accolade. He started and played in all 10 games this season, completing two rushing yards on one attempt and 14 receptions for 237 yards. Miller was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
 
Mrotek received his first academic all-district honor. He started and played in all 10 games this season, making 30 total tackles with 17 solo tackles with one interception, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Mrotek was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll in 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25. This season, he was named to the All-WIAC Honorable Mention Defense.
 
Along with Berens, Cashin and Mrotek, Rhett Loken (Amherst, Wis./Amherst), Brodie Overbeck (Brussels, Wis./Southern Door) and Grant Kirsch (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) received All-WIAC honors this season.
 
Student athletes selected must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, be a sophomore and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
