PRESCOTT, Wis. -- The UW-Stevens Point cross country teams travelled to River Falls to compete in the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's). The women finished sixth while the men finished seventh.

Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) led the Pointers women with a first-team all-conference fifth-place finish, clocking a time of 22:16.6. Krouse finished 24 seconds out of a top-two finish.
Gabri Gaines (Madison, Wis./Memorial) took 40th with a time of 23:43.7. Rounding out the Pointers top finishers was the pack consisting of
Hadley Reines (Marinette, Wis./Marinette),
Ani Oxborough (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) and
Judith Meister (Darlington, Wis./Darlington) who placed 56th (24:43.5), 59th (24:49.8) and 60th (24:51.1), respectively. Gaines was also honored on the WIAC Women's All-Sportsmanship Team.

For the men, freshman
Logan Murphy (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) took 27th with a time of 25:45.9. Murphy was the highest finishing freshman and was awarded the Men's Kwik Trip Newcomer of the Year.
Joseph McNulty (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) finished just behind the Pointers top finisher at 32nd with a time of 25:50.2. Rounding out the Pointers top finishers was the pack consisting of
Dylan Jensen (McHenry, Ill./East),
Mike Brown (Butternut, Wis./Butternut) and
Dean Montour (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) who placed 39th (25:57.5), 40th (25:58.0) and 42nd (25:58.3), respectively.
Aidan Schleutermann (Woodstock, Ill./Woodstock) was selected on the WIAC Men's All-Sportsmanship Team.

UWSP returns to the course on Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Red Hawk Open. Race time is set for 4:15 p.m.
