COLFAX, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point cross country team competed at the Blugold Invitational today in Colfax.
Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) crossed the finish line of the women's race in eighth place, UWSP women's team finished fifth out of the field. The UWSP men took eighth with
Ryan Reed (Madison, Wis./West) leading the way for the Pointers in 35th place.
Results
Krouse bested her time from last week's contest finishing with a time of 22:41.82 to cross in eighth place.
Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay,Wis./Big Foot) finished in 28th place with a time of 23:13.03.
Katie Schaefer (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) finished in 48th with a time of 24:05.22.
Catie Gage (Janesville, Wis./Parker) finished a few spots back in 52nd place with a time of 24:08.66. Rounding out the top five-point scorers for the Pointers was Paige Alleman who placed 60th with a time of 24:19.37. As a team they finished in fifth place out of a field of 25 teams.
Reed was the first Pointer to cross the finish line with a time of 25:53.76 in 35th place.
Kyle Pflug (Paddock Lake, Wis./Westosha Central) finished in 46th place with a time of 26:04.15. Next to cross the line in 51st was
Dylan Jensen (McHenry, Ill./East) with a time of 26:11.33.
Logan Lutz (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) finished in 67th place with a time of 26:25.67.
Derek Penzkover (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) closed out the team scoring with a 75th-place finish with a time of 26:31.43. As a team, they finished eighth out of a field of 25 teams.
The Pointers next meet takes them to Appleton, Wis. at the Gene Davis Invite on Saturday, Oct. 8. Race begins at 11:00 a.m.
