WEST SALEM, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point cross country team kicked off at noon competing at the WIAC Championships. The Pointers men and women finished in sixth place in the eight-team field. The top runner in the women's race for the Pointers was
Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) crossing the finish line in seventh overall. The first Pointer men to step across the line was
Dylan Jensen (McHenry, Ill./East) in 30th.

Krouse crossed the finish with a time of 22.32.5 earning herself seventh place. She has found herself within the top 10 in the four races she has competed in this season.
Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay,Wis./Big Foot) was the second Pointer to cross the finish line. Wellhausen finished in 32nd place with a time of 23:57.7. Next, was
Catie Gage (Janesville, Wis./Parker) with a time of 24:04.9 and her second-best finish of the season in 37th place. Just one spot behind Gage, was
Paige Allemann (Waumandee, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain City) in 38th place with a time of 24:09.0, also her second-best time of the season. Rounding out the top five-point scorers for the UWSP women was
Olivia Franklin (Kaneland) in 43rd place, she ran her best time of the season at 24:23.5.
On the men's side, Jensen finished in 30th place with time of 26:04.7. That was Dylan's second-best time and finish of the season.
Not far behind Jensen was
John Lee (Madison, Wis./Madison West). Lee finished with a time of 26:20.3 and place 39th. Next, UWSP runner was
Ryan Reed (Madison, Wis./West) with a 41st-place finish with a time of 26:22.9. Crossing the finish line one after the other was
Kyle Pflug (Paddock Lake, Wis./Westosha Central) and Josh Jumbeck. Pflug finished in 47th place with a time of 26:28.2. Jumbeck stepped across the finish with his best finish of the season in 48th place with a time of 26:28.3.
Allemann and Jumbeck were named to their respective WIAC All-Sportsmanship teams.
The Pointers travel to Northfield, Minn. to compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 12. The first race kicks off at 11:00 a.m.
