WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point cross country team traveled down to conference rival UW-Whitewater to compete in the Warhawk Open. The UWSP men were led by Josh Wilson (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) in third place, as the team finished in third overall. Jordyn Briggs (Black River Falls, Wis./Black River Falls) was the first female Pointer to cross the finish line in fifth place and the UWSP women's team finished second out of the field.

Briggs finished with a time of 27:28.6 and earned herself a fifth-place finish. 

Anya Maciolek (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) crossed the finish in eighth place with a time of 27:42.2. Jaimie Deschand (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) finished in ninth place with a time of 28:19.5. Closing out the team scoring in 11th and 16th place was Hadley Reines (Marinette, Wis./Marinette) and Madison Juenger (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) with times of 28:22.3 and 28:48.3.

Wilson led the Pointers and crossed with a time of 27:48.5 earning a third-place finish. 

Zach Brandenburg (Kronenwetter, Wis./D.C. Everest) stopped the clock at 28:28.3 to finish in ninth place. Finishing in 14th place was David Kerschner (Appleton, Wis./North) with a time of 28:54.3. Next to cross the line in 17th place was Garrett Exo (Baraboo, Wis./Baraboo) with a time of 29:08.4. Rounding out the top-five point scorers was Eric East (Chilton, Wis./Chilton) coming in at 29:36.7 to place 19th.  

Next Saturday (Oct. 29),  the Pointers will compete at the WIAC Championships in West Salem, Wis. The races will kick off at 12:00 p.m.
