OBERLIN, OHIO – The UW-Stevens Point cross country teams had an outstanding showing at the Inter-Regional Rumble in Ohio on Saturday. The UWSP women took second out of 32 teams while the men placed fifth out of 32 teams.
Results
Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) paced the Pointers with a fourth-place finish. She crossed the line at 22:13.1, a mere 18.6 seconds off the leader.
Paige Allemann (Waumandee, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain City) came in 24th at 23:05.8.
Katie Schaefer (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) took 29th with a time of 23:13.1.
Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay,Wis./Big Foot) placed 45th with a time of 23:26.1.
Catie Gage (Janesville, Wis./Parker),
Ani Oxborough (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) and
Gabri Gaines (Madison, Wis./Memorial) all finished in the top-100 out of 282 finishers.
For the men,
Dylan Jensen (McHenry, Ill./East) was the first to cross the line at 26:00.6, good for 36th.
Kyle Pflug (Paddock Lake, Wis./Westosha Central) was four places back with a time of 26:04.8.
John Lee (Madison, Wis./Madison West) took 43rd with a time of 26:10.5 and
Joshua Jumbeck (Galesville, Wis./Galesville-Ettrick-Trempealeau) finished 49th at 26:15.3.
Derek Penzkover (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake),
Logan Lutz (Greendale, Wis./Greendale),
Aidan Schleutermann (Woodstock, Ill./Woodstock) and
Ryan Reed (Madison, Wis./West) all finished in the top-75 out of 299 finishers.
The Pointers head to Whitewater for the Warhawk Open on Friday (Oct. 21) in the final tune-up before the WIAC Championships. Start time is slated for 4:00 p.m.
