WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point cross country teams ran a strong race at the Tom Hoffman Invitational in Whitewater, Wis. The UWSP women's team placed second out of 13 teams. The UWSP men's team placed third out of 13 teams.

Catie Gage (Janesville, Wis./Parker) led the pack for the Pointers, she placed seventh with a time of 23:35.5. Freshman Rachel Krouse crossed shortly behind in 10th place with a time of 23:38.7, followed by
Paige Allemann (Waumandee, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain City) in 12th place with a time of 23:50.8. Junior
Katie Schaefer (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) and freshman
Ani Oxborough (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) finished 14th and 28th with times 24:00.6 and 25:15.1, respectively.
On the men's team,
Michael Kluz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) was the first to cross the finish line for the Pointers in 7th place with a time of 26:03.8.
Logan Lutz (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) was the next Pointer to follow in 20th place with a time of 26:55.3.
Adam Tess (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie),
Kyle Pflug (Paddock Lake, Wis./Westosha Central) and
Braedon Gilles (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) finished 22nd, 25th and 27th to round out the top five finishers for UWSP.
The Pointers will be on the run again at the Blugold Invite in Colfax, Wis., on Friday (Oct. 1) beginning at 4:15 p.m.
