PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field team sent a limited number of athletes to the UW-Platteville Border Battle in the final meet prior to next week's WIAC Championships.
 
Results
 
Paige Allemann (Waumandee, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain City) was victorious in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:43.30, just ahead of teammate Briana Bralich.
 
Catie Gage (Janesville, Wis./Parker) won the 5000-meter run with a time of 19:36.34.
 
Makenzie Ward (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) took second in the high jump with a leap of 1.55 meters (5' 1").
 
Abby Nelson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) placed third in the pole vault and Elisha Wilson (Little Chute, Wis./Little Chute) finished third in the 800-meter run.
 
On the men's side, Josh Tarnowski was second in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:14.17.
 
Ryan Reed (Madison, Wis./West) also had a runner-up finish with a time of 16:06.00 in the 5000-meter run. 
 
Nick Baumgartner (Kewaunee, Wis./Kewaunee) tied for third in the pole vault clearing 4.29 meters (14' 0.75").
 
The Pointers will head to River Falls next weekend for the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's). Events begin on Friday (May 7) at 1:00 p.m.
