APPLETON, Wis. – Another middle of the pack team finishes for the Pointers cross country teams this weekend as both UW-Stevens Point women's and men's teams finished third and fourth at the Gene Davis Invitational held in Appleton on Saturday morning.

Taylor Campbell (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells) was the first Pointer for the women's team to cross the finish line in 11th place with a time of 24:37.4. Not too far behind Campbell was junior
Taylor Fuerstenberg (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) in 14th place with a time of 24:44.7. Coming in one after another in 16th and 17th place was
Olivia Greymont (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) and
Vanessa Olson (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) with the times of 24:54.9 and 24:56.6. Closing out the top five for the Pointers was freshman
Olivia Franklin (Kaneland) crossing the line in 28th place with the time 25:42.1. As a team the Pointer women's cross country team placed third out of seven teams.
From the men's side,
Maverick Lange (Oswego, Ill./East) is the first to cross in 20th place with a time of 27:17.4. Close behind was freshman
John Lee (Madison, Wis./Madison West) in 23rd place with a time of 27:31.8. Crossing the line nearly side by side was
Ethan Cruz (Appleton, Wis./Appleton) and freshman
Marcus Johnson (Burlington, Wis. /Union Grove) in 28th and 29th place with times of 27:39.9 and 27:40.1. Closing out the top five scorers for the Pointers was
Garrett Exo (Baraboo, Wis. /Baraboo) in 31st place with a time of 27:42.3. As a team the Pointer men's cross country team placed fourth out of eight teams.
The Pointer travel to Oberlin, Ohio., next Saturday (Oct. 16) at the Inter-Regional Rumble. The race begins at 10:30 a.m. ET.
