COLFAX, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's cross country team placed fourth and the men's team place sixth at the 2021 WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's) at the Whitetail Golf Course.
Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) placed in the top five in the women's race.

Krouse came in first for the Pointers with a time of 22:35.1 finishing fourth overall out of 82 runners. The second Pointer to cross the finish line in 11th place was
Catie Gage (Janesville, Wis./Parker) with a time of 22:53.9. Next, was
Katie Schaefer (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) in 18th place with a time of 23:15.0. Rounding out the top five finishers for the Pointers was
Paige Allemann (Waumandee, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain City) and
Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay,Wis./Big Foot) in 20th and 30th place with times of 23:20.9 and 24:07.9.
For the men's team, crossing the line first for the Pointers was
Michael Kluz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) in 21st place with a time of 25:50.5. Next runner across the line was
Nolan Richey (Kimberly, Wis. /Kimberly) in 24th place with a time of 25:58.9. Finishing up the top five scorers for the Pointers was
Adam Tess (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie), Aidan Schleuterman and
Braedon Gilles (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) in 39th, 41st, and 43rd place with times of 26:41.2, 27:00.5 and 27:07.4.
Schaefer and Josh Tarnowski were named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Teams.
The Pointers cross country team is on the run again Friday (Nov. 5) at 4:30 p.m. in Green Lake, Wis. at the Red Hawk Open.
