COLFAX, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point cross country teams held their own at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational in Colfax, Wis. The UWSP women's team placed sixth out of 27 teams. The UWSP men's team placed ninth out of 27 teams.

Results: Men | Women

The first Pointer runner to cross the finish line for the women's team was freshman Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West).  She placed 13^th with a time of 23:07.89. Catie Gage (Janesville, Wis./Parker) was the next Pointer to cross the finish line with the time of 23:31.98. She placed 22^nd followed by junior Katie Schaefer (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) in 38^th place with a time of 23:45.41. Junior Paige Allemann (Waumandee, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain City) and freshman Ani Oxborough (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) finished 72^nd and 81^st with times 24:35.50 and 24:42.63, respectively. There was a total of 378 runners in the women's race.

Michael Kluz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) was the first runner to cross for the men's team. He placed 18^th with a time of 25:44.16. Freshman Nolan Richey (Kimberly, Wis. /Kimberly), who placed 30^th with a time of 26:11.22, was the next Pointer runner to cross the line.  Kyle Pflug (Paddock Lake, Wis./Westosha Central), Logan Lutz (Greendale, Wis./Greendale), Braedon Gilles (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) finished in 68^th, 75^th, 81^st to wrap up the top five for UWSP. There was a total of 438 runners in the men's race.

The UWSP Pointer cross country team will be back at it again at the Gene Davis Invite in Appleton, Wis., on Saturday, Oct. 9 beginning at 10:30 a.m.
