STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point cross country team competed Saturday morning at the Pioneer Invite with the women's team placing first and the men's team placing second out of two teams.

Results

Amanda Cieslinski (West Allis, Wis./Central) crossed the line first for the Pointers with a time of 25:51.3 earning herself fourth place overall.

Alexis Anderson (Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest) was a couple seconds behind with a time of 25:53.0 in fifth place.

Makani Peters (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) riding Cieslinski and Anderson's coat tails placed in seventh overall with a time of 26:43.1.

Brianna Bralich (West Bend,Wis./West) placed eighth with a time of 26:56.0.

Freshman Bethany Olson (Lakeland, Min./Stillwater) rounded out the Pointer women's top 10 in 10th with a time of  28:02.5.

On the men's side, Alex Egbert (Sparta, Wis./Aquinas) came in first for UWSP with a time of 26:45.1, placing second overall.

A couple strides behind and rounding out the UWSP men's top 10 was Trey Hess (Wausau, Wis./East) in seventh with a time of 28:17.4.

Casey Olson (Madison, Wis./West) and Josh Schaefer (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) finished 12th and 13th, respectively, with times of 28:46.6 and 28:56.9.

The Pointers will be on the road again next Friday (Oct. 4) as they run at the BluGold Invite in Eau Claire, Wis. at 4:15 p.m.
