WHITEWATER, Wis. – Senior
Alexis Anderson (Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest) paced the field on the women's side as both the UW-Stevens Point men's and women's cross country teams finished second at the Oshkosh Open held in Whitewater on Friday.
Results
Anderson won the women's race with a time of 24:57.9, the lone runner to run a sub-25 time. Teammates
Brianna Bralich (West Bend,Wis./West) and
Amanda Cieslinski (West Allis, Wis./Central) came in third and fourth with times of 25:23.3 and 25:39.0, respectively.
Kathryn Flees (Milwaukee, Wis./Pius XI) placed 13th with a finish of 27:31.4 and
Kalena Clauer (Rubicon,Wis./Arrowhead) closed out the scoring with a 21st-place finish in 28:41.6.
On the men's side,
Nick Lawson (Madison, Wis./West) was the first Pointer to finish with a time of 27:59.0, good for sixth.
Casey Olson (Madison, Wis./West) and
Josh Schaefer (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) recorded ninth- and 10th-place finishes with times of 28:05.5 and 28:22.6, respectively.
Josh Tarnowski and
Jared Oemig (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) placed 13th and 15th, respectively. Their times were 28:29.7 and 28:38.3.
The Pointers travel to Cuba City, Wis., next Saturday (Nov. 2) for the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's). The first race begins at 12:00 p.m. at Cole Acres Golf Course.
