ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – UW-Stevens Point's
Emily Schlebecker (Mundelein, IL/Mundelein),
Kara Hoier (New London, WI/New London), and
Bailey Wolf (Oconto Falls, WI/Oconto Falls) led the Pointer women to a first-place finish in a 17-team field at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational on Friday (Sept. 22). The trio finished in third, fourth and fifth place, respectively, where they contributed 12 points to a team score of 76. The Pointer men finished third place out of a 16-team field with a team score of 112.

Schlebecker, Hoier, and Wolf ran as a pack together, where they set paces of 5:12 and 5:13. The trio finished with times of 19:20.3, 19:21.2, and 19:26.7 respectively.
Michelle Petkovsek (Waupaca, WI/Waupaca) finished in 26th place for the women with a time of 20:15.7, a pace of 5:27.
Mada Laundrie (Appleton, Wis. /Kimberly) competed in her first race as a freshman. She finished with a time of 20:34.0, good for 48th.
For the men,
Matt Stelmasek (Johnsburg, IL/Johnsburg) led the Pointers. Stelmasek raced his first race of the season where he posted a pace of 4:09. Stelmasek later crossed the finish line with a time of 20:33.7, a time good for fifth place.
Tyler Tanko (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) followed Stelmasek as he finished in 16th place. Tanko posted a time of 20:54.3, where he paced a time of 4:13.
Alex Egbert (Sparta, WI/Aquinas) and
Jonas Bietz (Madison, Wis./Memorial) finished in the 23rd and 25th place, respectively. The pair posted paces of 4:16, where they later finished with times of 21:10.3 and 21:11.9.
The Pointers travel to Waverly, Iowa, for the Dan Huston Invite on Saturday, Sept. 30.
