KOHLER, Wis.- The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 victory over Lakeland University on Tuesday afternoon at the Sports Core in Kohler, Wis.

UW-Stevens Point (2-1) used a doubles sweep to kick start a nine-win performance over Lakeland University (2-4). The shutout win was the first time the Pointers have blanked an opponent since defeating conference foe UW-River Falls, 9-0, in Sept. 2014.
The doubles pair of
Erin Lemmer (Wausau, Wis./East) and
Abbey Johnson (Black River Falls, Wis./Black River Falls) defeated Ellie Roe and Emma Schad, 8-4, to earn UWSP's first point of the day. The pairs of
Emily Kleist (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) and
Kaylee Roberts (Baraboo, Wis./Baraboo) along with
Elizabeth Wilichowski (Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton) and
Anna Dobbe (Stoddard, Wis./Onalaska Lutheran) followed, winning, 8-6 and 8-2, respectively.

In singles play, Kleist picked up her second win of the day defeating Ellie Roe, 6-3 and 6-0. Lemmer and Johnson continued their dominance winning each match in straight sets.
Angelica Hernandez (Blue Island, Ill./Dwight D. Eisenhower) earned her first win of the season, knocking off Carly Brault, 6-1 and 6-2. In the number six singles match, Wilichowski won her third consecutive singles match by scores of 6-1 and 6-2.

UWSP will open WIAC play with a trip to UW-Stout on Friday (Sept. 15). The match is slated for a 4:00 p.m. start time.
