Women’s Tennis Falls in WIAC Semifinals

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team saw its season end in the WIAC Tournament semifinals (presented by Culver's) in a 4-0 final at UW-Whitewater on Thursday.
 
Brooklynn Steier (West De Pere, Wis./West De Pere) and Allie Brosteau (Suamico, Wis./Bay Port) dropped a 6-4 final at No. 3 doubles. Tristin Jantz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) and Ellie Aitken (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) fell by a 6-3 final at No. 2 doubles. Chloe Regal (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) and Annie Wierzbicki (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) lost by a 6-1 score at No. 1 doubles.
 
Jantz dropped her No. 2 singles match by a 6-1, 6-0 score. Aitken fell by the same score at No. 4 singles. Brosteau retired at No. 6 singles as UWW clinched the match.
 
Steier won the first set at No. 5 singles, 6-3, and was tied at 2-2 in the second set when the match was called. Wierzbicki was tied a 5-5 in the first set and Regal was down 6-5 in the first set as the match was called.
 
The Pointers finished the season with a 20-6 record, the second time in program history reaching the 20-win plateau.
