Pointers Complete NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in 15th

SHENONADOAH, Texas – The UW-Stevens Point men's swimming and diving team finished their season at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships with a 15th-place finish.  The team earned All-American honors in five events over the four days of competition.     

Results

On Saturday, Jack Englehardt (Madison, Wis./West) finished 19th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 45.12 in the preliminaries.  Sam Jekel (Fitchburg, Wis./Madison West) also raced in the 100-yard freestyle finishing with a time of 45.35, good for 28th-place. 

Englehardt and Jekel joined teammates Jacob Aegerter (Cross Plains, Wis./) and Grant Moser (St. Michael, Minn./) in the 400-yard freestyle relay.  The team notched a 16th-place finish with a time of 3:06.02.

Overall, the showing by UWSP's seven individuals was outstanding in four days competing against the best Division III swimmers in the nation.
