ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Sophomore Bailey Wolf was the top individual finisher for the UW-Stevens Point cross country teams with a 16th-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Region Championship on Saturday. She helped her women's team to a 10th-place team finish. UWSP's men came in seventh in the 36-team field.

Junior Alex Egbert and sophomore Matt Stelmasek finished just 1.5 seconds apart with times of 24:27.0 and 24:28.5, respectively. Those times gave Egbert a 30th-place finish with Stelmasek coming in at 35th.
Tyler Tanko and Robert Lutz earned top-60 places. Tanko ran a 24:53.9 for 54th with Lutz placing 58th in a time of 24:57.1.
Freshman Jonas Bietz completed the UWSP team scoring with a time of 25:29.1, good for 84th. The Pointers other runners, Benjamin Jurenec and Noah Schulze, placed 87th and 91st out of 254 finishers.
Wolf finished with a time of 21:26.8, mere seconds from a top-10 placing. It was her fastest time in a 6K race since September.
Senior Emily Schebecker crossed at 22:13.0 and fellow senior Kara Hoier ran a 22:19.7 for finishes of 38th and 55th.
Bailey Boudreau and Brittany Gagas both placed in the top-100 among the 263 finishers. Boudreau recorded a time of 22:58.1 and Gagas crossed at 23:05.1.
UWSP will await Monday's announcement of the field for the NCAA Championships, which will be in Elsah, Ill., next Saturday (Nov. 18).
