On Day 2 of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, the UW-Stevens Point baseball team fell in an elimination game to UW-Oshkosh, falling 8-7 in La Crosse, Wis.

UW-Oshkosh (19-20-1) got things rolling early with Paulson singling to center in the second at bat of the game. Two Titans were hit by pitches to load the bases setting up a two RBI single for Kozlowski. The Pointers turned a double play to end the inning. UW-Stevens Point (21-21) led off the bottom of one with a Ray Greco (Downers Grove, IL/North) double but couldn't take advantage and left one on base in the top of the first. 

Both teams struggled at the plate in the second before the Titans took to the top of the order in the third. Kozlowski once again took advantage of runners in scoring position with a one out double to left center that scored one. The Titans took one more from the Pointers before heading to the dugout with a 4-0 advantage. 

The fourth inning brought a scoring drought for both teams before the Pointers got the bats going in the bottom of the fifth. Parker Sadowski (Beaver Dam, WI/Beaver Dam) was hit by a pitch to get on base for the Pointers. After a line out by William Iloncaie (East Troy, WI/East Troy), Clint Rose (Watertown, WI/Watertown) singled to left center to advance Sadowski. A Ryan Stanicek (Loves Park, IL/Boylan Catholic) single scored one and heads up base running on an error brought Rose to third. Ben Diedrick (Kimberly, WI/Kimberly) singled through the right side and scored two for the Pointers before the innings end cutting the Titan lead to one. 

The Titans scored three more in the top of the seventh extending their lead heading into the seventh inning stretch. The Pointers responded with a two out double by Greco to get on base in the bottom of the seventh. Diedrick singled to right to score Greco, setting up senior Cody Hanke (Marathon, WI/Marathon)'s two out double to right center scoring one for the Pointers.  Turner Doornink (Clintonville, WI/Clintonville) struck out swinging for the Pointers who cut the Titans lead to two.

The Pointers gave up one more in the top of the ninth on a single to right field by Whitcomb before the Pointers struck two out to bring on the bottom of the ninth. Clint Rose (Watertown, WI/Watertown) singled to right field to lead off for the Pointers. Tyler Thomka (Muskego, WI/Muskego) walked before Greco flied out to advance runners to second and third. Hanke had an RBI single to the shortstop scoring Rose. With bases loaded, a passed ball sent Tyler Thomka (Muskego, WI/Muskego) to the plate and advanced runners to second and third before Ben Gerber (Stoughton, WI/Stoughton) grounded out to end the game 8-7. 

The Pointers season ends with a 21-21 record.
