DAVENPORT, Fla. – The UW-Stevens Point baseball team (4-3) picked up an 11-1 run-rule win over the University of Mount St. Vincent (1-6) on Tuesday in Florida.
Kamden Oliver (Viroqua, Wis./Viroqua) had three hits, including a home run, drove in four and scored two runs.
Easton Snow (DeForest, Wis./DeForest Area) had two hits, drove in a run and scored twice.
Tommy Drohner (Plover, Wis./SPASH) had two RBI and two runs scored.
Cooper Brown (Appleton, Wis./West) reached on a error to start the second inning.
Josh Steger (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) and
Tino Ramirez (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) were hit by pitches to load the bases. Two batters later, Snow drew a walk to push in a run. Drohner drove in another with a groundout. Oliver then blasted a three-run home run for a 5-0 lead.
Connor Olson (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) hit a single to start the third. Brown singled to put runners on the corners. Two batters later, Ramirez reached on a fielder's choice as a run scored. After Ramirez stole second,
Nick Argersinger (Bristol, Wis./Westosha Central) drove him home with a single and a 7-0 lead.
Drohner was hit by a pitch to begin the fourth. He stole second and moved to third on a passed ball. An error by UMSV gave UWSP an 8-0 advantage.
The Dolphins got on the board in the fifth on a pair of hit batters and a single.
Snow doubled with two down in the seventh. He scored on a single by Drohner. Drohner then stole second and scored on a single by Oliver.
Tyler Soule (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) hit a double to put two in scoring position. Another UMSV error allowed the walk-off run to score.
Easton Zempel (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) recorded a strikeout in a1.0 innings in the start.
Ethan Winkler (Appleton, Wis./East) went 3.0 with seven strikeouts.
Jeremiah Jahnke (Winneconne, Wis./Winneconne) fanned six in 3.0 innings of work.
