MADISON, Wis.- The WIAC Championships was highlighted by Katelyn Asfeld (Waukesha, WI/Waukesha West) and Jordan Tyjeski (Beaver Dam, WI/Beaver Dam) for a fifth place finish this Sat., Oct. 22 in Madison, Wis.

Day 1 Results

Briget Bellissimo and Sadie Spahn defeated Katelyn Asfeld (Waukesha, WI/Waukesha West) and Jordan Tyjeski (Beaver Dam, WI/Beaver Dam) 8-3 in the first round, but the duo rebounded beating UW-River Falls 8-6.

In singles play, seated seventh, Katelyn Asfeld (Waukesha, WI/Waukesha West) was matched up with UW-La Crosse's No. 2 Bridget Bellissmo in the first round of singles play. Asfeld fell 6-2, 6-1.

Seated sixth, Frances Weiss (Sussex, WI/Sussex-Hamilton) played the closest match having faced No. 2 Hayley Clope from UW-La Crosse as well. Weiss was defeated 6-3,7-5.

The Pointers finish the season 4-8 overall and 1-5 in WIAC play.
