Previous All-Americans Gibson and Kalisz were each All-Americans for the first time, as Gibson was a first team selection and Kalisz was a second-teamer. This marks the second-straight season that UW-Stevens Point has had two CCM All-Americans.
Gibson was also the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Player of the Year and a finalist for the Sid Watson Award, given to the Division III national player of the year. The senior is the top-scoring defenseman in the country, averaging 1.03 points per game. His 22 assists lead all WIAC players and his 30 points are fifth in the conference. The Pointers are a perfect 8-0 when Gibson scores this season.
Kalisz was a First Team All-WIAC choice in his junior season and is UWSP's leading scorer this season with 17 goals and 14 assists. The 17 goals put Kalisz in a tie for 15th in the country and are the third-most among WIAC players. His 31 points rank fourth in the conference and his 125 shots are 30 more than any other WIAC player.
In its second consecutive appearance at the Frozen Four, UW-Stevens Point faces Amherst at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27 at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis.
